For last weeks lab, Bryce Wiseman and myself were given the task of recreating a circuit that followed a specific blinking pattern based off of a timing mechanism. However the challenge with with this lab was that we were not allowed to use delay to operate our timing mechanism. Instead we had to use a new concept called state machines. Essentially, this tool allows you to program very specific actions to be performed within a single system. While the actions do not have to be independent of each other, this tool allows for multiple functions within the same system and is incredibly helpful. It took us a little while to get the timing to function correctly, we eventually followed the the “map” we were given and got it to function. This exercise was very helpful n preparing us for the next project.
