This week in class we focused on learning how to use motors and PWM. PWM stands for pulse width modulation, which allows you to actually change the length of the waveform. I found this very interesting because when using a motor for example, you don’t actually change the voltage that outputs to the motor. When you change the speed of the motor you are changing the width of the time that the motor is either ON or OFF. Since the motor only operates as ON or OFF, then all you can manipulate is how long each of those functions last, which is what we focused on in-class and through related videos.
